Ergonomics at work in the healthcare sector

Caring for people's lives on a daily basis is a fine profession, but it requires a great deal of energy and the ability to withstand fatigue, stress and emotions. Hospital departments, emergency services and all other departments of the medical profession work hard every day to provide the necessary care for people who are ill or have had an accident. Working in these conditions demands a great deal of effort, which is why preventive and ergonomic measures in the various departments and workstations need to be put in place to enable them to work in good conditions.

For more than a year now, healthcare professionals have seen their workloads and rhythms increase, and this since the outbreak of the covid-19 epidemic, which has had a considerable impact on their work.

NEOSOL offers ergonomic equipment to improve the comfort and safety of healthcare professionals.

The importance of ergonomics in the medical profession

Ergonomics in the workplace and, more specifically, in hospitals and other medical departments contribute, in both the short and long term, to reducing both the physical and psychological burden on staff. Indeed, working in good conditions and in comfort will enable healthcare professionals to reduce fatigue, improve their posture and relieve the strain of standing during operations or consultations. It also helps prevent musculoskeletal disorders and endocrine infections.

The exhaustion and weakening of the medical profession has a major impact on the management and treatment of care-seekers. Enabling them to carry out their activities while reducing the difficulty of working, due in particular to the arduous nature of night shifts, will provide them with physical and mental support. Good working conditions require the study and analysis of different workstations, as well as ergonomics-related training for medical secretaries, handlers, nursing staff and healthcare managers.

Floor mat type

Functions and features

Disinfection mat

This mat is ideal for exiting operating theatres or areas where the risk of infection is high.

Its main function is to remove dirt and disinfect shoe soles.

The disinfection mat has a compartment into which you pour a diluted disinfectant liquid to clean and reduce any microbial traces on footwear.

The integrated loops on the mat bend under pressure and impregnate the soles with the disinfectant solution. The edges of the mat keep the disinfectant in the tray, so it remains effective throughout the working day.

Decontamination mat

This polyethylene floor covering ismade up of 30 sheets which remove bacteria, fine particles, dirt and other residues from contaminated soles, cart wheels and medical beds.

Thedecontamination mat is to be placed in front of an entrance area where high hygiene standards are required, and consists of 30 peel-off sheets, each with a sticky surface that will catch any impurities. So floors stay clean and the risk of contamination is low.

Antibacterial matting

Part of the anti-fatigue range, this top-of-the-range, heavy-duty mat eliminates all traces of bacteria and germs, and reduces odors.

It features a 100% nitrile rubber cushion that resists sanitary and chemical products, oil and other liquids found in medical establishments.

Its textured surface will help prevent tripping or falling, and its bevelled edges will provide a smooth transition between the floor and the antibacterial mat. This will ensure that carts or other wheeled equipment remain stable and won't feel shaky.
